Supreme Court rejects advocate santosh kumar suman petition against Manmohan Singh

lamming an advocate of the Supreme Court for filing frivolous petition demanding prosecution of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the 2008 cash-for-vote scam, the Delhi High Court on Tuesday also slapped a fine of Rs1 lakh on him.
Justice Ajit Bharihoke while dismissing the petition of Santosh Kumar Suman, said, “The petition appears to have been filed with malafide intention with a view to gaining cheap publicity. Thus, in my view the application is nothing but a gross abuse of process of law.”In July 2008, some MPs flashed currency notes in the House claiming that it was offered to them to save the UPA government.“Since the money was allegedly offered to save the government headed by the respondent (PM) so his complicity in the offering of money to MPs is obvious, as such the case should be registered against the respondent (PM),” the petition said.
